End of Lease Options Explained

How to Prepare for the End of Your Nissan Lease

Leasing a new Nissan is a great way to fit a higher trim level with more features into your budget. But like all good things, lease deals eventually come to an end, and you'll need to prepare for what comes next. Whether you're searching to start a new lease, or starting to plan for the end of your current one, visit our Hyannis, MA Nissan dealership serving Barnstable, Falmouth, Plymouth, Mashpee and Bourne and we'll direct you through the many processes that this kind of financing entails. Listed below are your three options when ending a lease.

What Are My Options When My Lease Ends?

Option 1

Buy or Lease a New Nissan

If you're ready to move on from your current ride, it's time to search for a new Nissan, and we certainly have plenty here on Cape Cod. With great options for sedans, SUVs and pickup trucks, you'll find exactly what you're looking for. When you're ready for your next new ride, we'll be sure to go over your new Nissan leasing or financing options.

Before buying or leasing a new Nissan, we'll have to take a look at your current vehicle. This vehicle inspection is complimentary and takes only about 30 minutes. We go over the overall condition of your Nissan and assess what wear and use charges you'll incur.

Vehicle Inspection

Before your lease expires, contact the Nissan Lease Customer Network at (800) 778-4211 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern Time to set up a complimentary vehicle inspection. This inspection may help you avoid a wear-and-use charge for items that may be covered by your insurance policy (such as a damaged windshield). And it will help you decide what to do with your leased vehicle.

This inspection takes approximately 30 minutes, and can be done at your Nissan Dealer, your home, or your place of business. It will be performed using a laptop computer, and the results will be printed immediately after the inspection. The inspector will review the report with you and address your questions. You will be given a copy of the condition report. A second copy will be left in your vehicle, and should remain in the vehicle until the time of return.

Should your vehicle's condition change prior to its return due to repairs or additional damage, another inspection will be necessary. To schedule your re-inspection, please call the Nissan Lease Customer Network.

Owner Loyalty Waiver Offer

It's not all just extra fees and penalties at the end of your lease. We here at Balise Nissan of Cape Cod value customer loyalty, so we offer waiver up to $500 of excess wear and liability on your current lease1. We'll be sure to go over your options in greater detail as you return your lease and begin your search for your next new Nissan.

Option 2

Keep Your Nissan Lease

Chances are, you're going to fall in love with your Nissan during the course of your lease. With that in mind, you can certainly purchase yours for its appraised value as you run up toward the end of the lease. After purchasing, you'll have your Nissan to do with as you please, with no annual mileage limits and the freedom to add parts and upgrades, or to sell it independently further down the road. Additionally, you won't be responsible for any other charges beyond the predetermined purchase option price and the incidental charges stated in the contract, or as required by state law, such as sales tax, registration and purchase option fee.

Option 3

Return Your Nissan Lease

If it's time to move on, you'll want to follow the vehicle inspection steps so we can finalize what you owe at the end of your agreement. You'll want to schedule this appointment prior to your lease maturity date, and we recommend giving yourself at least 30 days to plan accordingly. You'll conduct a federal odometer / lease termination statement with us, and you'll sign and date the vehicle condition report, which we take care of here. We will make the the process simple. Please read on for more detailed instructions on how lease return works:
